Foundation Course: The Heart of Parenting with Nonviolent Communication

“Where did we ever get the crazy idea that in order to make children [and adults] do better, first we have to make them feel worse?” Jane Nelson

This two day course:

  • Introduces you to the process of Nonviolent Communication [NVC] for use in expressing yourself to your children and others, listening to your children and others and most importantly listening with compassion to yourself
  • Gives you the tools and practice required to start using NVC in your daily life
  • Offers a safe and an empathic space for those engaged in the vital work of raising children

Would you like to:

•  Deepen the quality of connection with your children and your family without
giving up on your needs?
•  Stay connected to what you hold dear particularly during times of conflict?
•  Explore ways of becoming more present and available for yourself, your children and your family?
•  Learn to recognise when you are beating yourself up for not being a ‘good
parent’, and find ways to reconnect to yourself with compassion?
•  Learn how to take and value a “Time In”?
•  Add more fun, joy and play to your parenting journey?

The approaches we explore will support you in developing compassionate
communication. This approach fosters co-operation where everyone’s needs are
held with care and always with an intention to enable children and their
parents to reach their full potential.
