| Together we can |
This one day course links to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Social, Emotional aspects of Development (SEAD) and Social, Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL).
Course Description:
How we approach children in distress and conflict has a dramatic effect on their ability to handle distress and relationship conflicts now, and in the future. Children's distress and conflicts can be a huge source of worry and anxiety for practitioners, who might feel they have little understanding or strategies to support the children in their care. Handled with understanding and empathy, we can support young children in:
- Relationship building
- Expressing their needs
- Problem-solving
- Social language and reasoning abilities
- Expressing, naming and identifying feelings
- Building self-esteem and confidence.
"If
we nurture our children, if we teach them and love them, if they can
enjoy the harmony and freedom past generations have fought for, they
will lead us to a world free of prejudice and fear, free of hunger and
poverty."
