Course Description
Circle Time can provide practitioners and young children with a valuable opportunity to spend time getting to know each other, playing, exploring and simply being together. For Circle Time to be of benefit, practitioners need time to explore their rationale and how they can set up Circle Times to suit the personal, social and emotional needs of the children in their care.
Practitioners will have an opportunity to:
- Explore the relationships we want to grow with the children in our care
- Explore how Circle Time can be set up for very young children based on the key principles underpinning EYFS
- Link Circle Time to the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Social, Emotional Aspects of Development[SEAD] and Social, Emotional Aspects of Learning[SEAL]
- Think about and reflect on the purpose of Circle Time for very young children
- Take lots of practical ideas back to their settings
"Children learn in communion. They listen to people who matter to them and to whom they matter."
